More About Me
Christopher Carlino, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of CT and hold a masters of science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, an evidence based therapy that is effective in treating anxiety and panic disorders, depressive disorders, PTSD, career stress, and relationship difficulties. I am also trained in mindfulness skills, addiction and recovery, and have received past certification in trauma informed care. I work primarily with adults over the age of 18, and accept most commercial and state insurance.
I strive to balance therapy between a supportive exploration of clients' deepest concerns, clinical effectiveness, and a focus on creating meaningful life change. I have a passion for helping people get unstuck in life, and the ACT approach I utilize helps facilitate a connection to purpose, and a movement from struggling against symptoms to leading lives of heartfelt choice.
In addition, I am interested in philosophies of living, primarily existentialism and its deep insights into the human condition. I am a lover of the outdoors and believe in nature's ability to refresh and renew us. I am also an advocate of travel and it's capacity to expand and develop our ideas about ourselves and our world.
